Adventure Touring is one of the newest families within the Harley-Davidson® lineup, and Farrow Harley-Davidson®, which is the premier H-D® dealership serving riders in Columbus and Sunbury Ohio, has the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Adventure Touring models available to test ride and purchase. For those unfamiliar with adventure motorcycles or ADV bikes, these are dual-purpose motorcycles designed to perform well on the road but also across a wide range of other terrains. But the available technologies never really lived up to the aspirations until recently, and that is when this iconic American brand introduced two Harley-Davidson® Adventure Touring category models: the Pan America™ 1250 and Pan America™ 1250 Special.
Pan America™ 1250
The Pan America™ 1250 is the first model based on the all-new Adventure Touring platform. It is powered by the Revolution® Max 1250, which is a liquid-cooled engine that delivers more than 150 horses. Rider characteristics include a tall seating height, two-up seating, a frame-mounted fairing, upright rider positioning and mid-mount foot controls. All of the advanced rider-assistance technologies that Harley-Davidson® offers are included as well, such as a cornering-enhanced anti-lock braking system.
Another notable feature of the Harley-Davidson® Adventure Touring category models available at Farrow Harley-Davidson® is a ride mode system that lets the rider dynamically shape the riding dynamics for the terrain that they are currently navigation. The five preprogrammed modes are Sport, Road, Rain, Off-Road and Off-Road Plus. There is also a sixth mode that you can customize, which is very useful for riders in Columbus and Sunbury Ohio who have a spot where they ride often.
Pan America™ 1250 Special
The Pan America™ 1250 Special is the deluxe option within the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Adventure Touring models. Cast wheels are standard. Lace wheels are available as option. As with the base model, Vivid Black is the default color scheme, but here, you also have premium options: Gray Haze and Industrial Yellow with White Sand.
The biggest difference between the Special and the standard model is an adaptive suspension, which is a factory-installed option. It cannot be added to the standard model after the fact. What this system does is automatically adjust your seat height on the fly based on a wide range of inputs. Better yet, it’s fully integrated into the ride mode system, and that lets you dial in your ride height just the way you like it.
