The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course, offered at the A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson Shop at NorthStar, teaches you how to ride with confidence and competence! Our instructors won't just teach you how to operate a motorcycle, they will introduce you to a whole new world! The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course is a combination of classroom learning and riding on the "range," a training course built to increase your confidence with every turn.
No motorcycle experience is necessary; you don't even need a motorcycle! The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course includes a 500cc Buell Blast® for each student's exclusive use during the course. Here's what you will need for the five-day course:
- A valid automobile driver’s license
- A temporary Motorcycle Learner's Permit (written exam through the BMV)
- A heavy long sleeve shirt or jacket
- Jeans, chaps, or leather pants
- Over-the-ankle, sturdy footwear
- Full-fingered sturdy gloves
- A helmet that meets DOT specifications
- Protective eyewear
Upon completion of The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course, you will receive your Motorcycle Ohio Rider Course completion card. In Ohio, and many other states, this card will exempt you from having to take the riding portion of your motorcycle license test with the BMV!
Depending on your insurance provider, the completion card may also qualify you for a discount on motorcycle coverage. Check with your insurance company for details! The cost of this five-day course, including the use of the Buell Blast® and all class materials, is only $295! Full payment is required at time of registration. In the event of cancellation, $150 will be retained.
