The Naked Truth …

Riding a motorcycle is an activity we feel very favorably about. But is there a difference between riding a motorcycle and being a Harley rider? Seems to be!

Sure, the machines in question all have two wheels, a horn, The Naked Truthlights, cylinders, a gas tank, the list goes on. But the person on the bike is different if it is a Harley, aren’t they?  Harley riders live a certain way that includes all things Harley. There is the clothing, the accessories, the jewelry, heck, in some cases even the tattoos and baby’s names! And there is even more, a spirit almost, that comes through from these folks. They see themselves as motorcyclists AND Harley riders.

Not that there is anything wrong with BMWs, Ducatis, Honda, Suzukis, and so on. We happen to like other bikes, too, and the people who ride them. But the person living the Harley “lifestyle” just seems a little more recognizable than other motorcycle riders, dressed up in all the Harley garb or not.

This concept was recently explained by one of our associates to another person who didn’t quite get the whole “Harley thing.” As our team member so aptly put it, imagine a nudist (okay, maybe don’t actually IMAGINE them, but stick with us here …). They like NOT wearing clothing. That is their lifestyle, how they like to live. Sure, they sometimes do wear clothes, but they like living without them, and being naked is how they express themselves. The person GOT IT!

So, if you are a motorcyclist, we applaud your choice of activity, and hope to see you around. And if you are a Harley rider, we certainly will recognize you when you stop in. Probably would even if you were naked, but remember, we are in public!
