How ‘Bout Our Buckeye!

In times like these, we are all subject to unrelenting bad news. It’s easy to forget that behind the scenes, often not reported, there are wonderful things happening. People pursuing their dreams, working hard, achieving success.

How about some good news?! The other day I received a note from a student at Ohio State. He is a tennis player. A pretty good one, in fact. As in, the #1 ranked collegiate player in America on the #1 ranked men’s tennis team in the country! His name is Bryan Koniecko.

Bryan was sending me a thank-you note as he is attending OSU on a scholarship that was endowed by you, our customers and friends. More precisely, on a scholarship funded by A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson. A scholarship that has been permanently endowed over the last six years as a direct result of your support of our Dealerships.

If you met Bryan, you would never guess he is an athletic champion. He is not physically imposing in any way; easy to smile with a quiet, almost shy manner. But he’s tearing it up and taking names on the court!

We’re proud of Bryan’s accomplishments. You should be, too. In fact, we’re planning to attend one of his upcoming matches, and we’d love to have you join us (I bet not many tennis players can look up into the stands and see a bunch of motorcyclists cheering for them!). Bryan is a Senior at OSU and Captain of his team, has just earned his second Big 10 Player of the Week honor and has his sights set on an NCAA Singles and Team Championship.

Last year this great young man visited our store to meet members of our team. In his recent note to me he asked if he can come back and visit, this time with a few of his teammates, to show them “the cool Harley shop.” While he certainly has professional tennis in his future, it is great to know he received a college education courtesy of some bikers!

Being the best at what you do is pretty cool in our book. Bryan certainly has achieved that in his sport. I wonder if he realizes that his hard work is an inspiration to all of us, and for that we thank him!

Pre-Season Crash Course for Every Rider
Are you prepared to respond at the scene of a motorcycle crash?  Accident Scene Management, Inc. will conduct “A Crash Course for Motorcyclists” on Saturday, March 7 at the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar.  The one day course covers safe techniques for moving the injured, helmet removal, rescue breathing and much more.  The cost of the course is $50 per person and includes lunch.  Space is very limited.  Send an email to charissafee@adfarrow.com to reserve
