Bob’s Blog – Today’s topic: The 105th & More!Bob Althoff - Dealer Principal

I’m just back from Harley’s 105th celebration.  My ride both up and back was fun—believe it or not, I rolled through Chicago with no delays both directions.  The weather was blue-bird perfect all weekend.  The people of Milwaukee were wonderfully hospitable, as always.

There is something magical in a big crowd of kindred spirits, all ready for good music and ready to party.  I learned this at Woodstock as a young guy.  That summer long ago I made my way to the Atlantic City Pop Festival and later to Bethel, New York, for the gathering at Max Yasgur’s farm.  And here I am decades later riding in to Milwaukee with God-knows-how-many bikers primed for Kid Rock, the Foo Fighters, Springsteen, etc.105th H-D Logo

None of us were disappointed.  I tell people never to attend a Harley Anniversary unless you plan to make this pilgrimage every five years thereafter—because you will be hooked!

The new Museum is fabulous.  I look forward to spending many more hours in there just being amazed at all the cool, old stuff that The Motor Company has assembled.  You can’t look at this and not be proud to be a motorcyclist.  Generations have shared our special love and lifestyle.  Generations to come will only add to the story.

Weekends like this are the reason I’m proud to be a motorcyclist.  A peaceful gathering of the tribe, laying on the grass on a summer evening, looking up at the stars, listening to great music, anticipating another ride in the morning—realizing how lucky we are!

See you at the 110th!
