I’m writing today to ask you to join me and dozens of our brothers and sisters in what may be one of our dealership’s most enduring (and endearing) traditions. I’ve ridden in our annual Endurance Ride many years and can say that it’s a pretty cool deal (sometimes, bitterly cool!)

En-dur-ance (noun):
The ability or strength to continue or last, esp. despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina

The routes can go east, west, north or south (and over the years, we’ve pretty much ridden them all), but they always end at the same place- around the table with friends sharing a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The date is always the same Sunday before Thanksgiving when the weather is not always the most auspicious, but there’s something immeasurably satisfying about making this ride.

Making this ride remembers more than eight decades and honors the several generations of riders who have shared in this tradition.  In keeping this tradition alive, we keep their memory alive in a very real way. It’s not always the easiest ride, such is the weather here in Ohio in late November, but somehow it is always the most memorable. It’s the best way that I know how to put a cap on another great riding year.

So please make plans to join us.  Get your friends together and let's make some more history!

Delaware Veteran’s Parade Ride – THIS SUNDAY, November 9! 
Did you do your PATRIOTIC duty and vote on Tuesday? Now keep it going on Sunday, November 9!  Meet at A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar at 1 p.m., leave at 1:30 p.m. Or feel free to go on your own to the parade staging area at the Delaware County Fairgrounds (Pennsylvania Ave. gate). Staging time is 2 p.m., and the 2-mile parade “rolls” at 3 p.m.

November Food Drive/Discount Days On Parts, Motorclothes Clearance!
All this month we’re holding a food drive in the Parts AND Motorclothes Departments of All three Dealerships to benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. It benefits you, too: Bring in five non-perishable food items, get 5 percent off your purchase of Genuine Harley-Davidson Parts and Accessories AND Motorclothes Clearance items ONLY. 10 non-perishable items, 10 percent off these same things. 15 non-perishable items, 15 percent off. You MUST check in your donation at a Parts or Motorclothes counter; one discount per customer for the entire month of November 2008. Again, this is at all three of our Dealerships, throughout the month of November 2008 ONLY, Genuine Harley-Davidson Parts and Accessories and Motorclothes Clearance items ONLY. Please help!

No Money Down Days …
Who else invites you over to their stores to just hang around without buying anything? It’s true. We’ll never, ever discourage anyone from stopping by to have a look-see, ask questions and just get their motorcycling fix. Feel free to come by and dream anytime!

250-mile (or so) Endurance Ride – SUNDAY, November 23! 
As so eloquently referenced by Bob in his Blog (see above), this is the oldest continuously-held ride in the nation (if not the world) - it’s been going on for more than 80 years! Cost to participate is $20 per person, includes turkey dinner at the end. Meet at 8, leave at 8:30 a.m., starting at A.D. Farrow Co. in Downtown Columbus, 491 W. Broad St.  Finish at the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar, I-71 and St. Rt. 37 East.  Tickets available at both A.D. Farrow Co. locations. Questions to darrisblackford@adfarrow.com
