Can’t count on your bank being open now that “winter hours” mean from 9 a.m. until the money runs out?
Can’t count on the electric being on and wondering how the political ads can still be running when the stuff in the refrigerator smells like your 401(k)?
It’s true that things are tough…Thank God you’re a Harley guy or gal!
Tough times demand no bull, look-me-in-the-eyes, keep it real and cross my heart kind of talk…so here it is…  The prescription for what ails you and everyone else in America is sitting all bright, shiny, sexy and proud down at your Harley-Davidson shop.  Better yet, it’s already in your garage!
Need a vacation?  Hell, throw a leg over, go ride for 15 minutes and remind your neighbors why they wish they were you.  Let the wind wash your troubles away.  Then go back and fight the dragons where you earn a paycheck.  Then do it all over again tomorrow.
Nobody ever got rich betting against our kind of Americans!
Screw the pointy heads who sold us down the political, media and financial river.  We’ve got a family that doesn’t need rebuilding ‘cause it ain’t broken.  Our community is strong and unafraid.  We weren’t born yesterday.  We will not waiver and we will not apologize.
We’ll keep working hard.  We’ll raise our families, ride with our brothers and sisters, and get on our knees and thank the Lord for the blessings we enjoy.
God help the fool who bets against the America we know.
That’s what we believe.  That’s the way we will run our business.  That’s why we are here and damn well will be for another 97 years!  We will honor the names like Harley and Davidson and Farrow, like Beals and Penton, like Smith and Rayborn, like Davis and Stringfellow and all those who dedicated their lives to motorcycling.  We will do it like they did; one day at a time; one customer at a time; one race and one challenge at a time.

Make The Miles Pledge Drive Ends October 15 …
That’s right, if you’ve been collecting pledges and riding, walking or running your heart out for Flying Horse Farms since May, our first annual summer pledge season is coming to an end! You’ve got until October 15 to get in your last miles, and until October 31 to get in your pledges. If you’ve been too busy getting in your miles to visit the relevant websites for all the details, here they are again: www.flyinghorsefarms.org; www.makethemilesmatter.com. (In case you were wondering how Darris Blackford did with his goal of running 2,000 miles, on foot, one step at a time, from May 1 to October 15: He hit his goal on the last day of September, giving him two weeks to spare! So all of you who owe him your pledges, it’s time to pay up! Delaware Veteran’s Parade Ride – SUNDAY, November 9! NEW INFO!!! 
The city of Delaware is celebrating its 200th anniversary. A.D. Farrow Co. wants to pay tribute to this great city where we’ve created a new home while also honoring one of our most important groups – military veterans. Staging Area, Delaware County Fairgrounds. Time, 2 p.m. Parade “rolls” at 3 p.m. More details soon. Please plan to join us for what will be a very special day.

October 11 – Transue Family Poker Run, Party and Hog Roast. Sandi Transue, wife of American Showa associate Terry Transue, recently passed away from brain cancer. In celebration of her life and to support Terry and his family, our friends at American Showa in Sunbury are holding a benefit poker run, party and hog roast at Coaches Bar & Grill in Centerburg. Registration starts at 11 a.m. Cost is $15 per bike, including dinner. Passenger only $5 more! PLEASE get out and support this ride!

October 30 – TRAUMA, presented by Evolved Body Art. Bar of Modern Art, Downtown Columbus. Adult Halloween party. We’ll say that again: ADULT Halloween party. Flat out, these folks are wild, and this event will be something you’ll never forget. November 2 - 3rd Annual Rose Olson Toy Run. Rose was a beloved member of both the A.D. Farrow Co. and Centennial Park Harley-Davidson “families” who passed away in 2007. In her honor the CPHD Ladies of Harley hold this ride for the West Licking Fire Department’s toy drive, which helps kids in the Licking County area. Meet at 10 a.m. at Target, 8100 E. Broad St.  Bring a new, unwrapped toy, or go into Target and buy lots of them! Ride to the fire department at 11 a.m., then head to Stacey’s Hometown Buffet in Newark for lunch.

Sunday, November 23 – Umpteenth Annual Endurance Ride – The Oldest continuously-held ride in the nation (if not the world), it’s been going on for more than 80 years! Cost to participate is $20 per person, includes turkey dinner at the end. Meet at 8, leave at 8:30 a.m., starting at A.D. Farrow Co. in Downtown Columbus, 491 W. Broad St.  Finish at the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar, I-71 and St. Rt. 37 East.  We’ll have tickets available starting Monday, October 13, at both A.D. Farrow Co. locations. Questions to darrisblackford@adfarrow.com
