Fall’s BIG Ride To Help L’IL Ones – SEPTEMBER 30!
Helping Hands Charity Ride, benefiting Columbus Children’s Hospital – NEXT Sunday, September 30! This will be a great event! The ride hosts are the Blue Knights, the Red Knights, TWIG, the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar and the Winking Lizard Tavern at Crosswoods in Worthington. Registration starts at 10 a.m. at the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar (FREE coffee and donuts!); first bike out at Noon. Cost is $20 per bike, with a great party and an auction (hint: BRING CASH) at the Winking Lizard at the end! Bike Night TONIGHT At GasWerks! Last week was the bike giveaway, but the weekly biker party is still rolling along at GasWerks, 487 N. Park St., in the Arena District – you can still “park it on the patio” from 4 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and enjoy free food and enter to win prizes! As always, pick up your VIP pass at A.D. Farrow Co. in Downtown Columbus to be eligible for prize giveaways, or just come to the party!
Country Music with Charlie Tatman at NorthStar TOMORROW! Come out and enjoy the last Saturday of summer 2007 TOMORROW at the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar. - Nice, relaxed 60-mile ride to Haydenville in Hocking County! Riding on your own?
- Take Rt. 33 South from Columbus to St. Rt. 595, which is 5 miles South of Logan.
- Turn right on St. Rt. 595, go 1 mile into Haydenville, look for Hillclimb sign on the right side of the road in the middle of town.
- Follow that road about ½ mile to Greasy Ridge Road and turn right, go 1 more mile to Hillclimb. When in doubt, ask someone for directions to the Hillclimb!
Women’s “Garage Party” – NEXT Wednesday, Sept. 26!
Every few months A.D. Farrow Co. holds a gathering exclusively for women to learn about motorcycles and related topics, hang out, have fun, and share a meal. Wednesday, September 26 is the date for the next such event, the location is the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar, and the theme is “The Pursuit of Happiness.” The event is 6 to 9 p.m., and your host for the evening will be Sue Leighton from Mix 97.1, a biker herself and ball of energy who will ensure you have a good time! There will be awesome seminars, giveaways and of course, FREE food! You must RSVP, and participation is limited. Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles At Quaker Steak & Lube – NEXT Wednesday, Sept. 26! We’re good friends with Colorado-based Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles, and they’re coming to town to show their stuff at Bike Night on Wednesday Sept. 26! Fall Fest 2007 – September 29, Centenial Park H-D!
Our friends at Centennial Park Harley-Davidson in Pataskala are celebrating the start of fall with a party on Saturday, September 29, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The celebration will feature a market area filled with a bountiful cornucopia of local farmers, growers and organizations offering mouth-watering food, plus live music and free giveaways! Come enjoy harvest time, Harley style! Local charitable groups, organizations farmers, backyard gardeners, etc. that would like to set up a FREE booth at Fall Fest should contact kaylasharrock@adfarrow.com This can include schools holding fundraisers, church groups, community service groups, anyone with goodies to sell. We’re looking for baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, beef jerky, summer sausage, jams, jellies, cider, sauces and other items you would find at a farmer’s market!
Come Learn About the World of Motorcycling! On October 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., join us for “Road Warriors” at the Upper Arlington Municipal Services Center, Council Chambers, 3600 Tremont Road. This course, offered by the Lifelong Learning program of the city of Upper Arlington and A.D. Farrow Co., will give you a “ride” through the history of motorcycles, showcase their cultural significance, explore their place in movies, music and more! You’ll even get a photograph of yourself on the very cool bike! This class is open to everyone; registration is limited to 100! Cost is $19 for UA residents and $21 for non-residents. A group of OSU students have created the Buckeye Motorcycle Club at The Ohio State University, and even got the school to direct some student activities funding their way! The group is only a couple of months old, but already has held some get-togethers and planned some rides. But they want to do more, including getting OSU alumni who ride involved! Interested? 9/22- Victories for Vincent Poker Run – TOMORROW, September 22. Registration, 10 a.m. to Noon, last bike out 1 p.m. Start at Ten Mile Inn, 7229 W. Broad St., Galloway. Cost, $20 for single rider, $25 with passenger. You will be riding for 10-month-old Vincent, who endured a tragic loss of oxygen and now has a feeding and breathing tube. Please help if you can!
9/29- Marysville Longriders Lost Brother Run – Saturday, September 29. Registration starts at 9 a.m., Little Tony’s Pizza, 900 Columbus Ave., Marysville. First bike out, 11 a.m., last bike out, 1 p.m., last bike in, 5 p.m. $15 for single rider, $20 with passenger. All proceeds to pay funeral expenses for Chad “Kong” Rowe. We urge you to support this ride if you can.
9/29- Ridin’ For Riley Poker Run – Saturday, September 29. Event kicks off with breakfast at 8 a.m. at Stinkin’ Dad’s Saloon, 1267 Columbus St., Lancaster. First bike out 11 a.m., Last bike in, 4 p.m. Ends with a party - live music, auction, good times! You will be riding for Riley Mitchell, nephew of Easy and Micki Rector, a child who as a skin abnormality and already has endured many surgeries in his young life! Please support this ride!
9/29- Galloway Baseball Club Poker Run – Saturday, September 29. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Moose Lodge 11, 1500 Demorest Rd., Columbus. Cost is $15 for single rider, $25 with passenger. Call 614-207-6518 for more information.
10/6- Quaker Steak & Lube Fundraising Ride For Ohio Law Enforcement Officers – Saturday, October 6. Cost per bike is $20. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at The ‘Lube (breakfast buffet, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., only $5 per person!) First bike out,10 a.m., last bike out at Noon, last bike back at The ‘Lube at 3 p.m. for the start of the auction! Bottom line: Major Lisa Taylor and Lt. Mary Pfeifer of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were recently injured when their motorcycle was hit by an “impaired” driver. This fundraiser is to help them with incidental expenses during recovery. 10/20- H.O.G. Chapter Cemetery Ride – Saturday, October 20. Meet at 7, leave at 7:30 p.m., Downtown Columbus Dealership (rain date 10-27). This is a fun ride, with a party at the end! 11/18- Endurance Ride – Sunday, November 18. This is the oldest continuous ride in the country, if not the world. Day long event, 250 to 300 miles, dinner at the end, good times throughout! More details soon, but pencil it in!
