Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial Poker Run
In 2005, a local Vietnam Veteran had a vision to build a tribute to the military service men and women from Ohio that have given their lives to defend our freedom in the War on Terrorism since September 11, 2001. Two years later, the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial was dedicated in Sunbury, Ohio.

At the Memorial, white granite markers display the service member’s name, branch and date of death. According to Jerry Jodrey, Founder of the Memorial, “Each service member is recognized as an individual; someone who is dearly missed by family and friends. This Memorial is a place where returning veterans and family members who have lost friends or comrades can remember and honor them.”
Each year, motorcyclists are invited to honor the brave men and women killed in the war on terrorism though the Annual Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial Poker Run. This year’s poker run will take place on Saturday, June 12, 2010, and all proceeds benefit the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial.
All vehicles and bikes are welcome to participate in the fourth annual run. Registration is from 8-11 am at the A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar and the ride takes you through Ohio’s beautiful countryside with new stops along the way.
After the ride, motorcycles will be lined up at Big Walnut High School by 4:00pm to participate in a convoy with emergency and military vehicles past the Memorial and then return to A.D. Farrow Co. for the after-party. Prize money is guaranteed for the top four best hands and the ride fee includes admission to the after-party ($20 per rider, $10 per passenger).
The 2010 after-party at A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson Shop at NorthStar will feature live music from Chris Bell, V.V. Smith and Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, Jacked Up and On the Hunt! There will be food, beer, tattoos, raffle prizes, military displays and even activities for kids. Admission to the after-party is just $10 at the gate, but free to ride participants.
