Motorcycle Outreach Efforts Recognized
On April 22, 2010 Lifeline of Ohio and Fahlgren Mortine Public Relations received the 2010 PRism Award for the “Live On. Ride On.™” motorcycle outreach campaign. The award was presented by the Central Ohio Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for the “Marketing Communications/Existing Products or Services, Non-Profit” category.
Live On. Ride On.™ was launched in May 2009 with the intent of reclaiming the negative slang term ,”organ donor,” which has been thrown at bikers by individuals who don’t understand or appreciate the passion for biking. Through the Live On. Ride On.™ campaign, Lifeline of Ohio shows bikers what a donor really is: a hero.
Lifeline of Ohio’s volunteers connected with bikers through events all summer long, registering five times as many donors as the average outreach event, more than 100 bikers signed up in a few month! Social media outreach was also a big part of the initiative, as Facebook and Twitter created opportunities to connect with countless Ohioans in the biker community.
Thanks to Fahlgren Mortine for the outstanding work on this project! We’re kicking off the second year on May 15, 2010 at AD Farrow Northstar from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Stop by for your free patch or t-shirt.
